On April 28, Forbes China officially announced the 2025 ESG Impact Enterprises and Leaders. Zhu Yufeng, Party Secretary and President of GCL Group, was successfully selected for his outstanding contributions, including driving the green energy revolution with a global vision, breaking through low-carbon technology barriers with new quality productive forces, and building a full-value-chain ESG innovation governance system. He has become a benchmark figure for ESG practices in the new energy and carbon neutrality sectors.
At the awards ceremony, the judging panel presented the following citation: "Mr. Zhu Yufeng has reshaped corporate strategy with the philosophy of sustainable development. His innovative practices have set a benchmark for the green transformation of the industry, fully demonstrating the mission-driven pursuit and sense of responsibility of entrepreneurs in the new era."
The selection was jointly initiated by Forbes China and authoritative institutions and industry experts, with the core theme of "deep integration of ESG concepts and business value." The evaluation was conducted across four dimensions: industry leadership, professional breakthrough capability, strategic leadership, and social responsibility performance. Ultimately, outstanding representatives from various industries were selected.
Zhu Yufeng champions innovation-driven, technology-led development and is committed to achieving breakthroughs and reform in ESG governance systems. Against the backdrop of the global green energy transition and the "dual carbon" strategy, he has led management teams and R&D personnel to achieve multiple breakthrough results in key areas such as low-carbon photovoltaic materials, zero-carbon energy storage technologies, and carbon neutrality solutions. He has also promoted the development of an ESG management system covering the entire industry chain, continuously injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the green energy industry. This honor not only highlights his exemplary role in integrating the national "dual carbon" strategy into the global climate governance process and driving high-quality development through innovative ESG practices, but also demonstrates the Chinese wisdom and sense of responsibility contributed by GCL Group, as a global leader in new energy, in leading the industry's green transformation and co-creating a zero-carbon future through promoting the global application of low-carbon technologies and deep participation in international climate governance cooperation.
The selection focuses on companies' practical driving force and long-term value creation in green transformation. Other entrepreneurs in the new energy and carbon neutrality sectors who were also shortlisted include Cao Renxian, Chairman of Sungrow Power Supply; Zhong Baoshen, Chairman of LONGi Green Energy; Gao Haichun, Co-Chairwoman of Trina Solar; and Zhang Zhengping, Chairman and President of SERES Group, among others.
